Sky bar in Bangkok

So this is a new addition to the list because I didn’t realise how much I would actually love seeing this place, plus, I’m incredibly lucky to have experienced this, its a truly amazing place that you need to see!

This is probably the most famous rooftop bar in Bangkok due to it being featured in the film, Hangover 2. There are a few others in Bangkok but as we were only going to get to visit one, we thought we may as well visit the most famous and it did not disappoint! The views from the 64th floor were incredible! Very, very windy because of how high we actually were but so worth it. The Sky Bar is based inside a gorgeous hotel called Lebua at State Tower, as soon as we stepped inside we were glad we dressed up to fit in, the staff were so friendly too, although the lift seemed to take FOREVER due to it being on the 64th floor 😂

The staff in the bar are really attentive, they even offer to take numerous photos for you and have a torch to make sure you get the best lighting also, a nice touch I thought! The drinks were pricey, we stayed for 2 cocktails each, cost us £74 but I suppose it’s worth it for the views and memories! I recommend anyone to go visit if you get the chance in Bangkok, dress up and live like celebrities for an hour or two- great night!

Walking with elephants

So for anyone who follows me on social media, you will know I have just got back from a memorable 2 weeks in Thailand! By far the craziest, unusual place I have ever traveled to, honestly, it’s another world and I’d definitely recommend going if you get the chance!

We did many things during the trip, a couple which I have added to my bucket list so I can blog about them, but my favourite experience on the holiday was by far spending a day with elephants! We picked to go the Elephant Retirement Park, Phuket as they do amazing work caring for elephants of all ages who have been mistreated most of their life by being forced to ‘perform’ for tourists. It breaks my heart that these animals are separated from their mothers at birth and then trained, chained up and forced to perform ‘tricks’ for audiences and have countless visitors riding on them all day and night.

The retirement park is strongly against this and provides them a safe, caring home in their natural environment. I also had the mindset before I went, why can’t they just free them back into the jungle? This was a naive way of thinking as I learnt as these animals have been kept in a domestic environment, they would no longer survive in the wild as they are used to humans providing food, so, therefore, wouldn’t hunt for themselves and also they seek comfort in human contact as it is what they are used to, wild elephants would just drive them out of their ‘territory’ and possible kill them.

After arriving we were allowed to walk around freely and meet all the elephants, I underestimated just how big these animals are, literally quite intimidating up close as they are HUGE. After a few minutes, you could see they were just gentle giants and the way they seem to interact with us was amazing. They are so intelligent and all have their own personality, it was very surreal just being allowed to touch and be that close to them, much better than any zoo experience!

We then prepared and fed them all food, elephants are VERY hungry, like all of the time so despite how many of us were there they were loving life, eating 100’s of bananas! The second part of the day was my favourite, time to get in the mud spa! WOW, watching the elephants playing in the mud, splashing everyone with muddy water from their trunks, rolling around like puppies were amazing, also quite worrying as an elephant lying down in a giant muddy lake, means I couldn’t see where they were at times, hence why I fell over one of their legs, OUCH! But it was amazing, the mud is extremely good for your skin too- BONUS, free spa treatment 😏 We spent about half an hour in there before going to another pool to scrub and shower them off, hands down the most surreal thing, I think it may have even topped swimming with dolphins in Mexico! 😱

All in all, an unreal day spent with these animals and the work they do at this park is amazing, each elephant has their own carer and the relationships they have built is a real pleasure to see, you can tell the elephants are well cared for and are happy here!

Here’s just a few shots of the day… of course I have many more in my album!

Popcorn, dancing and acrobats!

So a few weeks ago after my last blog post, my friend Hannah Wheawall got in touch and wanted to help me tick something off my list. She bought a family ticket for me to take my nieces and nephew to the circus, first of all, the generosity of Hannah actually really moved me that she would do this for me, secondly, it was absolutely amazing and we all loved it! I can’t thank Hannah enough, it may seem like a small gesture but it meant the world to me.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from Gandy’s Circus, other than clowns obviously, I was shocked to see not many clowns, instead, people from all over the world made up this incredible circus and put on memorable shows. The amount of hard work and talent that the performers have amazed me, I have to say the tanned topless acrobats was a real treat for me and my sister! 😂

My nephew Logan and niece Olivia came with me and their mum Gemma, to say they were excited was an understatement, they absolutely loved it, their little faces lighting up with all the music and dancers in sparkly costumes melted my heart!

I highly recommend Gandy’s circus to anyone who hasn’t been, they tour all over England so keep an eye out for their shows! The greatest showman tour I went too was brilliant, so much fun and something we all won’t forget! Check out their website here:

Boudoir photoshoot

I’ve finally ticked off another thing off my list! Last week I went for a boudoir photoshoot at the very talented Bcaptured Photography studio.

This was one of the ones I’ve been dying to do but thought I’d never get round to it, until I took the plunge. I was told I would get my makeup and hair done and to bring two ‘sexy outfits and let them do the rest…

I turned up feeling slightly nauseous at the thought of taking my kit off in front of a stranger but the girls made me feel so comfortable straight away. Georgia glammed me up with plenty of glitter (just how I like it!) And then I was told to get in my outfit No 1 and Beccy would start my shoot. After my first pose and couple of snaps later the nerves went completely and I really enjoyed it. It was fun, Beccy let me have my input on what poses I would be comfortable with and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results! As I had just got engaged a couple of days before (YAY!💍) I asked if I could have some completely naked yet tasteful snaps for my fiance as a surprise, Beccy was encouraging and made me feel completely secure in what I was doing.

I had the photos back tonight, all 67 of them and I adore them, even I can’t stop looking at them thinking.. damn… is this actually me?! 😂

Obviously I’m not going to splash everything I have to offer over the internet but I have been allowed to post one so you get the idea!

I encourage anyone who wants to do a shoot like this to just go for it, it’s such fun to do and the photos are amazing! Thanks so much to the team at Bcaptured in Leek! 📸

2018! The year to really focus on this list!

So here it is, 2018. This year I turn 27 in July, according to medicine, this should be my last year. (Don’t worry, I’ll make sure it isn’t!) People born in 1991 with Cystic Fibrosis had an average life expectancy of 27. How mad is that?! I have alot of adventures planned already this year, hoping to tick a large part of this list off and who knows, I may even add to the list!

If anyone has any ideas of how I can tick off anything on the list, as always, send me a message to let me know.

This year is no where near my last, I haven’t even got time to even think that way, I’m too busy enjoying life and focusing on my health for my BIG plans!

I just wanted to say a quick thanks to my family and partner. You are all amazing, I wouldn’t be half the woman I am today without you all and your support gets me through the tough times more than you know.

So Happy New Year! I hope everyone has a healthy and happy 2018! 🎉

So it’s nearly the end of 2017. The last month or so has been a tough one (health wise) and looking at my bucket list, I’m more eager than ever to try and tick some things off while I can! So I’m calling on the power of social media, whilst I’m busy saving and kicking some C.F. ass, if anyone can help or knows of anyone that can help me to get closer to ticking off an activity please email me and let me know 🙂
